The Population Council's GIRL Center, Exemplars in Global Health, and several partner organizations are co-hosting this pre-conference to create a dedicated space for multi-sectoral conversations that elevate voices of adolescents and other stakeholders from LMICs, foster solidarity within the community, and drive evidence-based solutions. As part of the agenda, Exemplars in Global Health and AFIDEP are hosting two roundtable sessions on ASRHR and taking a holistic approach to girls’ health and wellbeing
Scaling Up Actions End Preventable Maternal Deaths: Linkages with Family Planning, Safe Abortion Care, and the Health Workforce (MNH / FP Pre-Conference)

UNFPA is convening a pre-conference to explore linkages between access to family planning, comprehensive abortion care, and averting preventable maternal deaths, while empowering and developing a competent, well-distributed, and supported midwifery workforce. Representatives from the Exemplars and Global Health consortium will be participating in this pre-conference through a few avenues: Asha George will discuss gender inequality and barriers to women fulfilling their SRHR needs, and Brenda Formin and Addiszemen Chanie Sewnet will share personal perspectives from the maternal health situations in Cameroon and Ethiopia, respectively, highlighting how other countries can learn from successful interventions deployed.
Translating Evidence to Impact for Girls' and Women's Health and Wellbeing Across the Life Course (Partner Side Event)

Exemplars in NMR/MMR: Perspectives of Success from Women’s Health Workers (Concurrent Session)

Session will showcase a compelling storytelling approach, featuring on-the-ground health workers from Exemplar countries who will share their firsthand, lived experiences related to reducing maternal and neonatal mortality and advancing women's health and well-being, highlighting the grassroots efforts needed to inspire change for improving MNH outcomes and broader gender equality worldwide.

The Exemplars in Global Health team is hosting an exhibition booth to source success stories from LMICs in advancing girls’ and women’s health and wellbeing, engage in dialogue with key stakeholders from across the EGH ecosystem, and share information on several Exemplar topics, including Family Planning, Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights, Women’s Health and Wellbeing, Neonatal and Maternal Mortality, and Anemia Among Women of Reproductive Age.

At this year’s Women Deliver 2023 Conference taking place in Kigali, Rwanda, Exemplars in Global Health (EGH) will announce a new research project: Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights Exemplars (ASHER). This toolkit provides guidance for engaging with EGH on our social media channels (Twitter and LinkedIn) throughout the Women Deliver 2023 Conference.
