I have some exciting news to share: After seven years of incubation at Gates Ventures, Exemplars in Global Health (EGH) will soon transition to the Gates Foundation.

This transition reflects a natural evolution for the program. EGH has grown tremendously since its launch, and we feel now is the perfect time to make the foundation our long-term home. The foundation’s expertise, resources, and network will provide a launch pad for EGH’s next stage of growth, enabling it to scale its work and, most importantly, help more decision-makers accelerate public health progress.

I will remain at Gates Ventures as Managing Director of Health & Life Sciences and will soon be passing the baton of leading EGH to a new director. I am pleased to share that the foundation is actively recruiting for this position.

I’m looking forward to seeing EGH turn the page and start its next chapter, but this isn’t goodbye from me just yet. I’ll be sharing reflections from my tenure at EGH over the next couple of months.
